A: Our client service advisors have extensive knowledge and experiences to help you figure out the best payment options. We work with other city agencies to provide home care services through your Medicaid and Medicare benefits. We also accept major long term insurance policies, no fault insurance, and private pay. A: CDPAP promotes your independence and freedom by allowing you to hire the caregiver of your choice. The caregiver can be a relative, friend or neighbor, allowing you to enjoy the comfort and peace-of-mind that you are being cared for by someone you trust. CDPAP also allows for flexible scheduling to suit your needs, and a formal weekly payroll structure for your caregivers.
Q: What kinds of services are included in CDPAP?
A: The CDPAP caregiver can provide the same services that can be provided by a personal care aide, home health aide, or nurse.
Q: how do I find out if I or a loved one is qualified for the CDPAP program?
A: To qualify for the CDPAP program, you must be eligible for New York State Medicaid services. You will also need to have a Doctor’s Order and a designated representative to direct your care. Q: Who can provide care under CDPAP Program?
A: The only people who do not qualify to give care under the CDPAP program are your parents, spouse or your pre-existing designated caregiver representative. Any other family members or friends can be your personal assistant.
Q: What are the requirements to become a CDPAP personal assistant?
A: Your son, daughter, grandchild, relative, friend or existing home attendant — anyone except your

• Designated representative (the person who makes home care decisions for you)
• Parent (if you are under 21).
Q: What is Xincon’s role as a Fiscal Intermediary in the process of hiring someone via the CDPAP program?
A: Under State Medicaid regulations, reimbursement for consumer-directed care must be arranged through a recognized fiscal intermediary (FI). The FI’s main role is to process the personal assistant’s wages, taxes, benefits, liability insurance requirements, etc. The FI is also in-charge of record-keeping, communication and consumer-education.
